This year’s H-Town Sneaker Summit was one-of-a-kind in multiple ways. The bi-annual event held its first ever silent auction, in Reggie Halloway’s name, to raise money for charity and help other kids watch their dreams come true. The Sneaker Summit also was the weekend destination for special guest that included Jordan Brand’s own D’Wayne Edwards, Dante Ross and Nick Diamond. Sunday’s H-Town Summer Sneaker Summit saw all types of heat from OG Jordan’s, to Player Editions, to SB’s and everything in between. While celebrity appearances and limited kicks set it off, it was the tribute to the late Reggie Holloway that stood out most. Team Reggie was in full force with an incredible collection display as well as the presentation of the Bespoke Nike Air Force 1 in Reggie’s memory. Earlier this year, the sneaker community lost a very special person and shoe enthusiast in Reggie Halloway. However, the bi-annual H-Town Sneaker Summit event ( a gathering Reggie participated in yearly) will do its part to keep Reggie Halloway at the forefront of our minds when it comes to sneakers.
With that said, the H-Town Sneaker Summit will hold its first ever silent auction, in Reggie’s name, to raise money for charity and help other kids watch their dreams come true. The item auctioned will be a special, autographed pair of Reebok ATR Elite Yao Ming PEs that were donated by the Houston Rockets. The Holloway family asks that all proceeds of this auction be donated to the Make A Wish Foundation of the Texas Gulf Coast.
The final details have been revealed for the summer’s hottest sneaker event. The official press release for the H-Town Sneaker Summit Summer 2010 came out today unveiling a star studded lineup. Leading off is the legendary D’wayne Edwards, Footwear Design Director at Jordan Brand. D’Wayne is the driving force behind the Future Sole Competition as well as the designer of signature models for the likes of Carmelo Anthony, Derek Jeter, and Michael Jordan himself. Next up is Dante Ross, consultant for Pro Keds and Marketing Director for Famous Stars and Straps Footwear. Dante is a vet in the game who’s work spans from producing for De La Soul to creating The Terry Kennedy Show. Rounding out the cast is Nick Diamond, founder of Diamond Supply Co. and mastermind behind the Nike SB “Tiffany” Dunk.
The event will have tons of giveaways and auctions. As always it is a great way to see awesome collections and meet other people with the same passion for sneakers. This event will also include the presentation of the Bespoke Nike Air Force One for the late Reggie Holloway.
