Back in 1996 Reebok took a chance on a brash Virginian out of Georgetown to carry their brand and basketball line. Despite his checkered past and unwillingness to be what the league or world wanted him to be, Reebok signed a young Allen Iverson to a 10 year $50 million contract. His debut shoe the Question was a success and one of the few times a rookie sported a signature sneaker in their season opener. From then on they would release a series of Answer sneakers each season and Bubba Chuck would re-up with Reebok signing a lifetime contract with the brand. Over the weekend a source at Reebok confirmed that the infamous Reebok Answer line has ended with no more new models to follow. With the Answer 13 being the last model made for Iverson we recount the 13 best Iverson shoes from Reebok.

Reebok Answer IV White/Black

The Reebok Answer IV was one of the best looking and best performance models featuring full length DMX cushioning and zip-up closure. Iverson would wear this model in the 2000-01 season where he would lead the league in scoring and win the MVP Award. He also was voted a starter in the All-Star Game where he would take home game MVP honors. While AI accomplished a lot in the AIV, this colorway will best be remember for his stepping over Tyronn Lue during the Game 1 victory in the 2001 NBA Finals.

Reebok Zig Slash Chad Ochocinco PE

John Wall is not the only Reebok brand member with a special pair of Reebok Zig Slash exclusives. Recently, Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco revealed a couple of photos of his Reebok Zig Slash player exclusives via Twitter. Obviously, this Zig Slash contains the Bengals color scheme as the predominance of the base is colored in black. Orange hints appear in the form of the enlarged Reebok logo, the Zig Slash sole unit and the tongue branding. When Reebok supplied Ochocinco with these, it’s safe to say he said anything but ‘Child Please‘.

Reebok SL Flip Fall 2010

The Reebok SL Flip is a sneaker that has seen a variety of colors in the past. It’s simple silhouette has allowed it to be customized in a variety of materials. This fall, Reebok will be releasing three colorways of this model. The first pair features a grey upper with burgundy branding and laces to add contrast. The remaining two pairs feature all black uppers with leather, suede and other materials used on various panels. All three pairs make use of the classic white Reebok midsole. These three pairs will be releasing on Reebok’s online store later this fall.

Reebok Pump Omni Zone ‘Awesome Blue’

Earlier this month, many of you were enamored by the collaborative effort between Solebox and Reebok on the Pump Omni Zone that featured mini bulbs on the side panels (it actually lost a Footwear Faceoff to the TRON x adidas Heat Check by one vote!). However, we have now spotted a simpler Reebok Pump Omni Zone that is now available at select retailers worldwide. Although it contains a predominately black leather base, the Awesome Blue hints (PUMP tongue logo, side panels, midsole) are the most intriguing to say the least. View additional photos below.

Reebok Insta Pump Fury “Flight Jacket” Army Black

Over the past couple of months, Reebok has unleashed specific pieces from its highly-detailed “Flight Jacket” Pack. We have already seen the release of the Pump Omni Lite and the Insta Pump Fury; however, we have spotted a third “Flight Jacket” Insta Pump Fury colorway at select retailers worldwide. This particular pair owns a leather and patterned nylon construction featured in black. Additionally, an orange inner lining is used along with contrast stitching of the same color on the heel and tongue tabs. Lastly, a white midsole and a black outsole provide nice complimentary attributes.

Footwear Faceoff: TRON x adidas vs Solebox x Reebok

Normally, Footwear Faceoff pits two athletes or celebrities against each other in a battle to see who has the most fresh kicks. This time though, some very special collaborations are going head to head. The past week has given us the Tron Legacy x adidas Heat Check and Solebox’s Reebok Omni Zone Pump. Both light up and have readers interested in the technology like it was 1992 and LA Gear was all the rage. So who did better; Solebox and Reebok or Tron Legacy and adidas?

Solebox x Reebok Omni Zone Pump

After an abundance of Pump Omni Lite colorways, its high top brother gets the spotlight in a standout collaboration. Berlin boutiquers got their hands on the hi rise hoop shoe to create the Solebox x Reebok Omni Zone Pump. Shying away from loud patterns or vibrant prints, the Solebox designed Pump takes on a simple black based colorway with grey wings and a white midsole. Simplicity is eclipsed however by the mini bulbs that illuminate the side panel. Those looking to light up can turn on this feature while those opposed can turn it off. Release info is still scarce but look for this collaboration to drop early 2011.

Reebok Dash Runner Sneakers

As part of several Reebok running sneakers releases this summer, the Dash Runner caught much of our attention. The sneaker comes in a couple new colorways and possesses a low-cut silhouette that is constructed of suede and leather. One of the Dash Runners is mainly detailed with red suede upper and multiple hints of white leather and blue hints, while the other pair make use of a Marina Blue/White-Yellow color scheme. H-Town Sneaker Summit Silent Benefit Auction In Memory of Reggie Halloway

Earlier this year, the sneaker community lost a very special person and shoe enthusiast in Reggie Halloway. However, the bi-annual H-Town Sneaker Summit event ( a gathering Reggie participated in yearly) will do its part to keep Reggie Halloway at the forefront of our minds when it comes to sneakers.

With that said, the H-Town Sneaker Summit will hold its first ever silent auction, in Reggie’s name, to raise money for charity and help other kids watch their dreams come true. The item auctioned will be a special, autographed pair of Reebok ATR Elite Yao Ming PEs that were donated by the Houston Rockets. The Holloway family asks that all proceeds of this auction be donated to the Make A Wish Foundation of the Texas Gulf Coast.
