Shox and ball.

Shawn Marion showed us a glimpse of the future last night. And that glimpse’s name was Nike Air Shox Hyperballer. Er, Nike Air Hypershox. Um, Nike Shox Air Hyperballer. Actually, we’ll let you know whenever Nike finally settles on a name for it.

Marion debuted the new Shox basketball shoe, set for release later this year, putting up 21 and 10 for the Mavs in a 104-96 loss to the Nuggets. Perhaps Matrix, like Blake Griffin and his Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011, is keen on making a very late season new shoe transition. And with the regular season fading into the playoffs, he’ll have extended time to wear the future now.

Gilbert Arenas kept his kicks rotation spinning, dropping a vintage Gil performance of 25 points – including six 3-pointers – in the Air Jordan 7 “Chambray” from 2006. The Magic beat the Bobcats in overtime, 111-102. Down in Miami, LeBron started in the White/Red LeBron 8 V/2 and finished in the White/Black-Red V/2, tallying 29 points as the Wade-less Heat fell to the Bucks, 90-85. In other action, Kevin Durant unveiled a White/Navy-Yellow edition of the Nike Zoom KD III, Dorell Wright alternated White/Yellow and Yellow/Blue PEAK’s, and Stephen Curry jotted down divine inspiration on his Nike Zoom Hyperfuse.

In the first episode, titled “The Lion”, the LeBrons turn the tables on a neighborhood terror before coming to the conclusion that two wrongs don’t make a right.

The NBA’s third annual Green Week began Sunday, a league partnership with the Natural Resources Defense Council to raise funds for and awareness of environmental preservation. And although Denver players Kenyon Martin, Nenê, Raymond Felton and Ty Lawson did their awareness-spreading via green adidas adiPure’s and Nike Air Foamposite Pro’s, they didn’t tread lightly in L.A. The Nuggets got 22 points from Danilo Gallinari, 18 from Martin, and 16 from Felton to pollute the Lakers’ 9-game win streak with a 95-90 victory. A single tear ran down Jack Nicholson’s face.

The other teams playing Sunday didn’t show any G.W. solidarity with their feet but they did manage to contribute a few choice kicks. Ray Allen and Gerald Wallace went with the “Silver Anniversary” Air Jordan 11 and 9, respectively, LeBron gave his Black/Red-Orange LeBron 8 V/2 another spin, Toronto’s Johnson Boys wore Cool Grey Jordan 11′s, Rondo helped chew up the Pistons in White/Gum BB 360 Low’s, and Leandro Barbosa pretended to be D-Rose again by wearing the adidas adiZero Rose 1.5.

Bye bye, Nike Air Max Fly By?

Last night, Blake Griffin wore the Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 for the third time this regular season, and back-to-back with last game’s unveiling. Breaking out a White/Blue-Red edition of the Zoom Hyperdunk 2011, Griffin put up 26, 16, 3 and 2 on the visiting Thunder to grab a 98-92 Clippers win. With only a few regular season games left, perhaps Blake is just going to rock the shoe out from now on.
