A closer look at the new Clyde.

On February 14th, PUMA and Undefeated (UNDFTD) unveiled their collaboration on a special edition collection of the iconic Clyde shoe. As mentioned, PUMA and UNDFTD will release variations on the Clyde through 2011 and beyond. The first model called the “Stripes Off” are set to drop next week and CounterKicks has new images of the shoes today with less than a week until their release.

Much like Walt “Clyde” Frazier’s famous outfits, the “Stripes Off” is all about luxurious fabrics and special details. This collection of the classic Clyde silhouette focuses on neutral tones with the shoe being available in white, gray, olive and black. Gold foil highlights the shoe on all models with the PUMA Clyde signature logo on the heel and gold thread on the leather stripe on the back of the heel. The UNDFTD Strike logo is embossed on the tan leather longue label and “PUMA x Undefeated” is printed on the footbeds.

The first collection for this collaboration will release on April 10th for $115 at retailers like Premier and UNDFTD stores as well as retailers with an UNDFTD account.

The second collection will drop on June 10th. Why the 10th, you ask? The man who debuted the Clyde as his signature shoe in 1973 wore number 10 through his playing career.

Party like a legend.

The first collection of the anticipated collaboration between PUMA and UNDEFEATED releases to retailers on April 10th but you celebrate the launch a few days earlier. “Game Time” is the next party being thrown by PUMA and UNDFTD this Wednesday in New York City. The event celebrates the 70′s Clyde style with plenty of gold highlights, like the sneaker and only vinyl spinning all night by some of the best local DJ’s.

The event kicks off at 9PM and runs to midnight. To get in, you need to email RSVP@PUMA.com and it is a 21+ event. Make sure you RSVP by April 6th and get to the event early if you want to get your paws on some beverages and get down.
